ANIMATION SALON
ASIFA-Hollywood's Animation Archive presented a series of symposiums at
Woodbury University's Fletcher Jones Foundation Auditorium. These informal
discussions and screenings on subjects such as pop cultural literacy and acting for
animation brought together the creative spirit of the animation community and
fostered the interaction of the membership of ASIFA-Hollywood.
LITTLE MERMAID 20th ANNIVERSARY
Moderated by animator Tom Sito, a panel including directors John Musker and
Ron Clements and artists Mark Henn, Andreas Deja, Ruben Aquino, Gary
Trousedale and others discussed the making of the film that began the era known
as the Disney Renaissance.
IRON GIANT 10TH ANNIVERSARY
Tom Sito again gathered the artists and director Brad Bird for a celebration and behind-the-scenes look at the film that transcended the art form.
COMIC CON
 ASIFA-Hollywood once again presented a variety of panel discussions,
screenings and symposiums on the art and state of the animation industry.
THE 11TH ANIMATION SHOW OF SHOWS
This sneak peek of the best of animation from around the world was once again
presented by Ron Diamond of Acme Filmworks and co-sponsored by AWN.com.
EXCLUSIVE SCREENINGS
Throughout the year, members of ASIFA-Hollywood in Los Angeles, San
Francisco and New York were invited to screenings of such films as Up, Cloudy
With a Chance of Meatballs, Coraline, Ponyo, Open Season 2, The Princess and
the Frog, Monsters vs Aliens, The Secret of Kells, Missing Lynx, Fantastic Mr.
Fox, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Mary and Max, Waking Sleeping Beauty
and How to Train Your Dragon. Most of these screenings featured a Q & A with
the principal film makers afterwards.

Returning to UCLA's Royce Hall, the 37th Annual Annie Awards was hosted by
