‘Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood’ Members Online Screening from Netflix

Written and Directed by Richard Linklater, “Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood” tells the story of the first moon landing in the summer of 1969 from two interwoven perspectives – the astronaut and mission control and through the eyes of a kid who has intergalactic dreams of his own. Taking inspiration from Linklater’s own life, “Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood” is a snapshot of America in the 1960s; part coming of age, part societal commentary, and part out-of-this-world adventure.

Richard Linklater is known for films that revolve mainly around suburban culture and the effects of the passage of time. His films include the comedies “Slacker” (1990) and “Dazed and Confused” (1993), and the animated films “Waking Life” (2001) and “A Scanner Darkly” (2006).

Rated PG-13, Running time 97 minutes

The online screening will open at 9am PT on April 7th, and close at 11:30pm PT on April 24th. The link will be sent to members of ASIFA-Hollywood via email.
