In 1960, organizers established the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (Festival International du Film d’Animation d’Annecy), which unfolds annually in the charming town of Annecy, France. Initially held biennially, the festival transitioned to an annual event in 1998. ASIFA International sponsors this festival, making it one of the four global gatherings dedicated to animated film.
