Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera were arguably the most prolific animation producers of the twentieth century. During Bill and Joe’s 60-year collaboration, they directed 114 Tom and Jerry cartoons at MGM and then, as presidents of Hanna-Barbera Productions, produced over 200 animated and live-action television series and a vast cross-media portfolio including commercials, comic books, and thousands of licensed consumer products.
Arizona State University professor Kevin Sandler and University of Virginia professor Tyler S. Williams will talk about their upcoming anthology, Hanna and Barbera: Conversations (University Press of Mississippi, 2024) which documents the men and their studio through previously published and unpublished articles and newly commissioned interviews.
