John Canemaker Celebrates Winsor McCay and Walt Disney at the Academy
Oscar and Annie winning animator, John Canemaker, will be at the Motion Picture Academy on September 13th hosting a not-to-be-missed presentation, that examines some of the art form’s most remarkable early achievements.
“Animation Masters: John Canemaker Celebrates Winsor McCay and Walt Disney” will feature rare footage and art.
The presentation will be in three parts: “Gertie the Dinosaur and the Birth of Personality Animation,” at 6 p.m. “The Lost Notebook: Herman Schultheis and the Secrets of Walt Disney’s Movie Magic” at 7:30 p.m. and “Fantasia” at 8:45 p.m.
Tickets are $5 general admission $3 Academy members and students with a valid ID. Be sure to check the Academy’s official website for more information.
