Tepulpaï, a mischievous ten-year-old, dreams of becoming a Shaman, though according to the great Shaman of his village, the boy lacks maturity. Besides, the village has other concerns: the Great Inca, furious that much of the harvest was wasted on offerings, confiscates the villagers’ sacred statue, the Huaca. The statue is essential to the Village, especially now that omens predict the arrival of invaders. Tepulpaï secretly leaves the village, determined to retrieve the statue and save his people. But Tepulpaï won’t go on this quest alone: his friend Naïra has decided to join him, whether he likes it or not!
