Phil Tippett Receives Winsor McCay at Annie Awards

Back on February 1, 2014, acclaimed visual effects wizard Phil Tippett received the prestigious Winsor McCay Award at the 41st Annual Annie Awards. In this clip, you’ll see some of the best moments from the work he produced in his career, as well as many humorous anecdotes about the film industry.

Phil is a movie director and a visual effects supervisor and producer, who specializes in creature design and character animation. Some of Phil’s work incudes visual effects on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Dragonslayer, RoboCop, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1, Starship Troopers and Jurassic Park.

The Winsor McCay Award is given to individuals in recognition of lifetime or career contributions in animation. The award is presented at the annual Annie Awards, presented by ASIFA-Hollywood.
