A Virtual Afternoon of Remembrance Set for January 30

The Animation Guild and ASIFA-Hollywood present a non-denominational celebration paying tribute to and honoring members of the animation community that passed away in 2020.

Co-hosted by The Animation Guild and ASIFA-Hollywood, the Afternoon of Remembrance (AOR), is an annual Hollywood tradition.  For over a quarter century, AOR pays tribute to all who created animation, from top industry leaders to the rank-and-file artists. Those who will be honored this year include: Mickey Mouse comic-strip artist Roman Arambula; Scooby-Doo creators and collaborators Joe Ruby and Ken Spears; Disney animator Ann Sullivan; and Emmy-winning animation writer David Wise.

This is a non-denominational service; event co-founder and The Animation Guild President-Emeritus Tom Sito describes it as a moment to “remember, laugh, cry and share stories as we say good-bye to all our friends who left us in 2020.”

This year’s online event takes place Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event is open to the public and those interested in attending can register HERE.
