KLIK! Animation Festival Delights Members of ASIFA-Hollywood
Last Friday, members of the KLIK! Animation Festival from Amsterdam presented the very best from the 2013 edition of the event. The festival is an annual celebration of all that is animation.
Held in room E-100, Woodbury University’s new state-of-the-art screening facility, the festival organizers introduced their films to a full house that included a hilarious remake of the classic 1950’s Let’s All Go to the Lobby. This animation was created especially for KLIK! by HKU students Nicole Derksen, Rogier Henkelman, Mark Bastiaan, Rose Zhang, Merel van den Broek, Laurens van Walbeek and Jurgen Hofman.
The KLIK! Festival includes two competitions each year for short animation films: the International Student Animation Competition for student films and the International Short Animation Competition for animations with a length of up to 25-minutes.
Since 2009, there is also a Design Award and a Political Animation Award for the best animation with a political theme. Besides animation, the festival celebrates related art forms, such as comics and computer games. KLIK! Amsterdam is organized by the KLIK! Foundation.
