HE NAMED ME MALALA is an intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai. Targeted by the Taliban, along with her father, while advocating for girls’ education, Malala, then 15, was severely wounded. She miraculously survived and is now campaigning for worldwide girls’ education as co-founder of the Malala Fund.

Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman) gives us an inside glimpse into this extraordinary girl’s life. Her close relationship with her father, her impassioned UN speeches and her everyday life with her parents and brothers, shows us how Malala and her family are committed to fighting for education for all girls. “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”

After the screening, here will be a Q&A with animation designer Jason Carpenter and animation producer Irene Kotlarz.
